Greek singer songwriter Thanasis Papakonstantinou studied Mechanical Engineering in Thessaloniki before devoting himself exclusively to music.

Now living in Larissa, Papakonstantinou writes music in the Greek folk idiom. His songs stem from his own recollections of the traditional songs his parents sang while working in the fields – often combining them with modern and rock elements. Thanasis Papakonstantinou has collaborated with numerous notable artists from the Greek music scene, such as Γιάννης Αγγελάκας (Giannis Aggelakas), Μελίνα Κανά (Melina Kana), Λιζέτα Καλημέρη (Lizeta Kalimeri), Σωκράτης Μάλαμας (Sokratis Malamas), Νίκος Παπάζογλου (Nikos Papazoglou) and Διονύσης Σαββόπουλος (Dionisis Savvopoulos).
